Did I read it right? Reading a children’s book CAN improve my leadership? How?

This week I have a suggestion that might sound strange, at first. Think of your audience as children… Bright, interested children. Why? Because we respect the need to make things fun and interesting for children, but we often forget that adults are just grown up kids!

When you read a children’s book to some kids you love you make it fun; you use vocal variety; you get louder and softer and put feeling into what you’re reading.

When you make it fun you audience will listen more intently and enjoy your presentation more. Don’t be goofy, unless that’s called for. When you think about really conveying the meaning of what you’re saying, and take responsibility for saying it with feeling and emotion, your audience will appreciate you and your message.

Here’s a 2 minute demonstration and a challenge!
