A KEY Leadership Opportunity: Insightful Vulnerability™ 💪

I’ve coined a term for something that I have long respected, but struggled to name: Insightful Vulnerabilityâ„¢

As Inspirational Speaker Les Brown says: “People don’t connect with your successes. They connect with your messes. Your message is in your mess!”

But, this great leadership opportunity often seems lost on leaders. Being vulnerable isn’t often modeled well in organizational settings. In fact, it is often the opposite! Leaders try to look tough, invulnerable and perfect.

But, that’s not authentic. It’s driven by fear and it just doesn’t work. No one is actually inspired, or drawn to that kind of leadership – they’re actually put off, even repelled.

Insightful Vulnerabilityâ„¢, on the other hand, is inspiring. And, when you practice Insightful Vulnerabilityâ„¢ as a leader your team will mirror you, which means you’ll get more real insight into how your business is going. You’ll be giving people a real opportunity to connect with you, and you’ll be more influential.

Admittedly it’s scary, that’s why it is so rare. But, this isn’t about fearlessness, it’s about having the courage and generosity to allow others to learn from your most painful mistakes. They’ll love you for it.
