Great Rhetoric Inspires Great Deeds! Are You Giving Your Rhetoric Its Due!

You may have seen my equation L = f (C) –> Leadership is a Function of Communication. It’s astounding what can be accomplished with mere words. Look what happened when Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “I have a dream!” Think about the oratory of FDR and Churchill. Think about what Steve Jobs did for Apple with his words.

Think of all the great speeches you’ve heard in your life. They don’t have to be the most famous or well-known speeches. Maybe it was your boss, maybe it was a friend, or maybe it was a very famous speech that changed your life.

Those speeches don’t come from nowhere. They are deeply thought out, they are well crafted and well delivered. Typically they were the product of great effort. Steve Jobs and Winston Churchill both dedicated an hour of practice for every minute of speaking, and that was AFTER they crafted their speeches.

Great leaders use great rhetoric to inspires great deeds. Turn your great ideas into great speeches. Give great rhetoric its due! When you put in the effort you will be more successful, and inspire great deeds!
